    I went back
I just came home from my first poekoelan lesson in 16 years. They made me feel like I'd never left. Get out there and get some exercise, my lovelies. I cannot recommend it enough!

Heh. So yeah, I'm a computer hardware noob. I learned a little bit about DDR memory and went out to buy some for my computer (from the Free Geek thrift store, so I only paid 5 bucks.)

My computer uses DDR2 memory. Which seems like the same thing. But it's not.

Who knew? The little notch isn't in exactly the same place.

Well, I'll try again after the snow storm I guess.

    Restless tonight
I was feeling a little crazy, so after the rest of the house was asleep, I headed over to the Kennedy School detention bar for a beer and a cigar. I ended up getting embroiled in a political conversation and being offered a beer by the bartender for being a teacher. It was very entertaining. Now I'm somewhat drunk and sick from the tobacco, but it was totally worth it to gain a new myspace friend and spend a bit of the night connecting with people.

Now Bailey is licking my hands because she's a nicotine addicted cat who eats cigarette butts whenever she can get ahold of them.

The world is an entertaining place.

I'll be at the HPLFF tomorrow.
Hey, if you're going to be at the HP Lovecraft Film Festival tomorrow, look me up. I expect to get there lateish in the afternoon and be there until Dark Paradox is over. If I get a call to sub early in the morning on Monday I might leave a little earlier, but as of now I'm planning to make a night of it.

    gosh darn those gremlins
My rocky relationship with the Demiurge is showing again today. I hadn't been able to find my glasses for the last two days, so when I lost my phone today, I thought I'd go look out in my car. Well, the glasses were there, under the front seat, but not the phone. Now I'll have to lose something else to find my phone or something. It's annoying.

But you know what's not annoying, but in fact the opposite of that?

    Grandma update
Well, Grandma died yesterday, so I'm not driving down there this week. Things still look grim for Kubla Con, so be prepared for me to zip through the Bay Area sometime in early-mid June. That is one good thing about a teacher's schedule, a bit of time in the Summer to play, even if there's no money to play with. I'll stay here through May, earn as much money as I can and then be able to run around a bit.

Will I still make it to KublaCon?
Well, I'm not sure. My grandmother is dying and we're going down to Gold Beach on Wednesday. This cuts into my earning time. And I misunderstood how much money the government was sending, so I'm a little short there too. How completely lame. Perhaps I should skip the con(s) and go down in June and just hang out with folks.

    Do meteorologists ever print retractions?
The news on Saturday said that it would rain the rest of this week. Obviously wrong. So I'd love to hear all the geeky details as to why. Is there somewhere one can find information like that? Ideally, I'd love a blow by blow comparison as to what they thought at first compared to what actually happened.

Today I got my first paycheck for substitute teaching. It's only for a few days, but it'll do the trick until I get my next one. It is so nice to get paid for it finally.

So I had two chances to work this morning and turned them both down. Because today is a 'semi-sick' day. This weekend was pretty awful with me getting sick after Friday night's game and my stomach has been fragile ever since. So I wasn't going to take a job doing PE nor was I going to take an emergency class with no sub plan for a 5-6 blend way far away. If it had been one of my regulars or a class with an actual plan, I'd have taken it. I still need to run out to a school to get my planner that I left behind on Friday and I'm going to visit my mentor teacher in her class and drop off some plastic bags. Then I need to do some homework that is overdue for my online class and try to keep the WoW to a minimum.

See? Sometimes I do write about my life.

Ok. I need a little help. Seems like the upstairs toilet tank has been leaking all day and we just now noticed it. Which means leakage through the floor into our utility room. So I'm going to at least need a plumber, if not someone even more handy than that. Anyone have good people that they've used in the past and could pass on a number?

We're probably going to have to buy a new toilet too! I guess it's a good excuse to get one that conserves water.
